How to Fix Discord not Connecting?

Discord is one of the best VOIP applications in its segment. It enables you to chat with other players while playing a game. But a few Discord users are facing some issues on it like Discord application is not getting linked for multiple players and it stops them through using the application despite having a working connection to the internet. Let’s check out the solutions for Discord not connecting issue.

Disable Browsing Protection           

  1. You should invoke the F-Secure Safe on your system.
  2. After that, select the ‘Browsing Protection’ through the end of the screen.
  3. Then switch the toggle of ‘Browsing Protection’ to disable it.
  4. Now, select the OK button.

Modify the Network Settings

  1. Press the Windows and I buttons altogether over the keyboard to invoke the Settings.
  2. After that, select the ‘Network and Internet’ settings.
  3. You should choose the Proxy option through the left side panel.
  4. Then move down and switch the toggle of ‘Use a proxy server’ to disable it.

Optional:

  1. Hold the Windows and R keys altogether over the keyboard to invoke the Run section.
  2. Then input ‘control’ into it and hit the Enter key to invoke the Control Panel.
  3. You should choose the “Network and Internet Options” then choose the button of ‘Internet Properties.’
  4. Go to the tab of Connections then choose the ‘LAN settings’ option through the bottom.
  5. Don’t forget to mark the box of ‘Use a Proxy’ then apply the settings.
  6. Check if the error has been fixed or not.

Remove File

  1. Hold the Windows and R keys altogether over the keyboard to invoke the Run section.
  2. Then input ‘%appdata%’ into it and select the OK button.
  3. Go to the folder of Discord and move down until you see the file of Settings which is into the format of “. JSON Source File.”
  4. You should choose the file and hold the ‘Shift + Delete.’
  5. Now, launch the Discord and see if the problem has been resolved.

Troubleshoot Compatibility

  1. Navigate to the Executable of Discord and right-click on it on your desktop.
  2. Then choose the ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’ option through the list then all the Windows pop-up recognise the issues.
  3. Later, attempt the ‘Recommended Settings’ then check the app.
  4. Now, check if Discord is connecting or not.
