Ghosts of Tsushima Becomes Best Seller in the UK, Beats Paper Mario: The Origami King

Sony and Nintendo have always been rivals when it comes to video games. Recently, both the companies launched their respective games- Paper Mario: The Origami King and Ghosts of Tsushima. Both the games were equally anticipated and hyped, which is why the two games immediately shot up to the best-selling list in the UK before anybody could realize. Paper Mario: The Origami King is the sixth instalment of the series, and its predecessor landed in the markets nearly four years back. It is a long-overdue game and the very first of its set to be released on the Nintendo Switch. On the other hand, Ghosts of Tsushima is also a much-delayed release from the Sucker Punch productions, who have successes like the Sly Cooper series and the Infamous series under their wing. Ghosts of Tsushima is already being lauded for its tremendous image quality.

In the competition that the market saw this weekend, Ghosts of Tsushima won by a sizable margin as compared to The Origami World and topped the UK’s best-selling PS4 game. Ghost of Tsushima is the latest instalment of the PS4 as is an exclusive by Sony. The company had released a game within The Last of Us series hardly a month back, and they already presented another game. The two companies did not shy away from extending their congratulations to each other for success. The arrival of these two quality games pushed The Naughty Dog game sequel down to the fifth position in the top-selling games chart in the UK.

F1 2020 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are on the third and the fourth position on the same list. Whether the two new games currently at the top will sell enough to maintain their position for long will be revealed by the end of the week. But in the current scenario where people are housebound, and video games and online content streaming sites are at their absolute peak, it is hard to push down the sales of a game until it is of horrible quality. The sales of gaming companies are through the roof. Any company that did not see this sea of opportunity and did not launch new games will always regret this because this scenario is not something that happens every year. The upcoming holiday season is going to be even better in terms of both launches and sales.
