How to Fix Terraria Keeps Crashing Issue?

Terraria is one of the best 2D sandbox games which gives you action-packed adventure. Also, it offers you multiplayer modes with gameplay that revolves around building, combat, exploration, mining and crafting etc. But most gamers complained about its crashing issue while starting. So, here are some fixes to fix this error.

Run the Game as an Administrator

  1. You have to shut the Steam if open.
  2. After that, go to the Steam button and right-click on it on the desktop.
  3. Then choose the Properties option.
  4. You should choose the tab of Compatibility and mark the ‘Run this program as an administrator’ box.
  5. Thereafter, click on the OK button.
  6. Now, open the Steam again and then Terraria to check the problem.

Confirm the Integrity of the Game Files

  1. You have to run the Steam on your system.
  2. Thereafter, click on the LIBRARY option.
  3. Navigate to the Terraria, and right-click on it, then choose the Properties option.
  4. You should choose the tab of the ‘LOCAL FILES” option and choose the ‘VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES’ option.
  5. Now, open the game again to check whether the issue has been fixed or not.

Run the Game in Compatibility Mode

  1. Go to the Terraria button and right-click on it on the system.
  2. After that, click on the Properties option.
  3. Then select the tab of Compatibility.
  4. Later, mark the ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ box.
  5. You should choose the box of the list to choose the Windows 8 option.
  6. Thereafter, select the OK button.
  7. Now, reopen the game to look at whether the problem has been fixed.

Install the Game Again

  1. You should run the Steam on your system.
  2. After that, select the LIBRARY option.
  3. Then choose the Terraria and right-click on it then choose the Uninstall button.
  4. You have to select the DELETE button.
  5. Now, download the Terraria again.
  6. Finally, reopen the game to look at whether this has solved the issue. Otherwise, you will require to install Steam again too.

Install the Steam Again

  1. Navigate to the Steam button and right-click on it.
  2. Thereafter, choose the ‘Open file location’ option.
  3. Go to the folder of steamapps and choose the Copy button.
  4. You should put the copy in a different location to back it up.
  5. Then hit the Windows button over the keyboard.
  6. After that, input the ‘control panel’ into it and hit the Enter key to invoke the Control Panel.
  7. Beneath the ‘View by’ section and choose the Category option.
  8. Later, click on the ‘Uninstall a program’ option.
  9. Select the Steam and right-click on it then choose the Uninstall button.
  10. Pursue the steps to uninstall Steam and wait to finish the process.
  11. Then go to Steam and download it.
  12. Invoke the file you have downloaded and install Steam.
  13. Reach the Steam button, and right-click on it, then choose the ‘Open file location’ option.
  14. Later, move the backup folder of steamapps you make before to the recent directory location.
  15. Now, re-open the Steam and the game.
